Money is important in the world we live — often inappropriately so. At Forked River PC we are learning about what it means to worship and live for God. We believe that is a holistic pursuit. Because we are human beings who have an economic life, worshiping God includes a progressive and joyful surrender of our financial life to God and God’s purposes in the world.

The Bible teaches more about the issue of money than it does about many other topics. Having a healthy understanding of and relationship to money is critical to live life fully in the way of Jesus. For followers of Jesus giving away 10% of our resources has served as a healthy measurement of our financial life. While this number is not set in stone, and some may choose to give more, we believe the giving away of 10% of what we have control over has served as a starting point for followers of Jesus, taught in the Bible and practiced by Christians throughout history.

As people who follow the God revealed by Jesus Christ, we believe we are called to a life of ever-increasing generosity. In the same way, we believe in responsible stewardship including moving toward a debt-free life, a challenge for most of us.

We provide several different ways that you can participate in our financial life. You can give when you worship with us on Sundays. After the sermon we collect the “offering” as a part of our joyful response to God’s activity in our lives. You can also send your tithe and offerings by mail:
