Hunger Action Team (HAT)
The Hunger Action Team works with the Lacey Food Bank every month to provide their clients with fresh produce. The food bank serves 275 families in our area.  We have been participating  in this program  since 2007.  The income for the project comes mainly from our congregation through the Cents Ability offering,  which we receive once a month.  We also receive a yearly grant from the Presbytery Cents-Ability Grants Committee.
We fill around 165 bags of produce on a monthly basis for the Lacey Food Bank to distribute to its clients.  In January we conduct a Winter Food Drive where church members fill grocery bags with needed food items to restock the Food Bank pantry.
We meet monthly at the Lacey Food Bank.  Dates are printed in the Sunday News in the Pews.  Anyone interested in alleviating  and eliminating hunger is welcome.

Cents-Ability Collected on the second Sunday of each month.
Cents-Ability is a small first step in the battle against hunger and poverty.  Congregations invite every member-of all ages-to contribute a few cents at every meal.  25% of the offering supports programs of the Presbytery Hunger Program that addresses the root cause of hunger around the world. This simple act is an expression of thanks for what we have received.  It is also a commitment to share with others in response to Jesus’ command “You give then something to eat.”  When members bring their offerings to church on the appointed Sunday, all of those coins “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” as they are received and dedicated.
